Separate areas by function
A sunpad and seating around a dining table are not used in the same way. Explain where people lie down, which areas see frequent boarding and which remain exposed to sun. This prevents one visual preference from driving every decision.
View the fabric in context
A small photograph on a screen can mislead colour and texture choices. View a sample on deck beside the existing canvas and wood. Discuss seams, piping and the divisions between cushions too.
Describe actual water exposure
Does the cushion see light spray or frequent soaking? Water-draining reticulated foam has different characteristics from other foams; quick-drying claims do not apply to every product. Outer fabric, underside and foam need compatible choices.
Plan everyday care
Verify cleaning guidance for salt and dirt with the selected surface manufacturer. Consider how cushions can be inspected and dried during periods of storage. Our outdoor seating photographs can guide discussions of colour and layout, but a technical material brand cannot be identified from a photograph.
