Headroom and useful coverage
Seated and standing positions, helm movement and boom clearance where relevant are considered together. Increasing the shaded area must also take account of equipment and ordinary movement around the cockpit.

The existing frame is measured and assessed before developing the canvas pattern. Attachment points, reinforcement and folding parts are considered as one assembly. Easy stowage matters alongside a neat finished shape.
Choosing material and colour

01Does a bimini stop all rain and wind?
An open-sided bimini is primarily a sun canopy. It should not be expected to block wind, spray or rain arriving through the sides.
02Is the old canvas enough for measuring?
It is useful information, but may have stretched or inherited a poor fit. Measurements on the boat and frame are preferable.
