Describe how the saloon is used
A boat saloon may support dining, working and occasional sleeping as well as sitting. Explain these uses and what currently feels uncomfortable when discussing renewal.
Separate the cover from comfort
Surface wear and a loss of foam support are different issues. It may not be possible to establish internal condition without opening the old cover. Assess foam, base and cover separately so the result addresses more than appearance.
Firmness, density and use
Foam firmness and density are not the same measurement. Support, thickness and daily use expectations should be discussed together. Sailrite’s marine interior foam guide considers moisture conditions and use frequency; no single product should be prescribed for everyone without assessment.
Work with the existing furniture
