First distinguish an enclosure from a storage cover
The term winter cover can describe different applications. The photographs here show clear-window enclosures around seating. A space used while aboard has different needs from a whole boat covered for storage. Explain the intended use at the first discussion.
Discuss windows from inside the boat
Visibility is not only about standing at the helm. Seeing out while seated, noticing someone approaching from aft and reaching the entrance matter too. Assess the positions of clear areas and fabric joins from actual working and seating positions.
Where will an open panel go?
Discuss where a zipped doorway gathers, what holds it open and how it affects the passage. An open window and a closed window are two different uses of the same panel. Folding or rolling conditions depend on the chosen clear material’s instructions.
Think about the two materials separately
Strataglass specifies cleaning and storage methods for its own coated clear vinyl. That does not make the same chemical suitable for every clear plastic. Keep product information for canvas, windows and zips, and include moisture and ventilation checks in regular use.
